Bruce Wayne had at one point been working on a device to guarantee Gotham would always have a protector. In the event of his death, the machine could grow a clone of him and implant a copy of his memories into them, creating a new Batman to succeed him.

He eventually gave up on the idea before it ever came to full fruition.

But even in its incomplete state, he had created just enough for Clockwork to hijack it.

Phantom’s soul was in a perilous state, unlikely to survive without being attached to a new body. And luckily, the device provided an ideal way to facilitate that. Plus, the Waynes would undoubtedly support his recovery too. Well, at least once they got over the panic at his existence they would.

Also: It has been revealed in gameplay videos (and maybe it was confirmed earlier but if it was I missed it) that the Guardians of Azuma protagonist, like most Rune Factory protagonists before them, has amnesia! I am delighted by this, as I continue to love that Earthmates and Earth Dancers are gifted with incredible powers but are completely and UTTERLY unable to avoid losing their memories at the slightest provocation. It's a hilarious weakness. Frey/Lest fell off a blimp still in flight and was completely unharmed except for the amnesia. And they may have gotten the amnesia BEFORE the falling!

Introducing the Erased AU!!! or as I like to call it: The Mysterious Disappearance of Normally Oak

Hehehehe I actually came up w/ this back in May (with the help of @kaseyskat <3) but it's been modified to be more canon compliant since some recent things got the brain gears turning :]c

The premise is essentially Norm and Dood do some. very silly goofs. aka w/out telling anyone Normal decides to go back to the Doodler's home dimension w/ Dood to keep them company and through some magic shenanigans everyone now has no recollection of Normal or the Doodler apocalypse- everything is a picturesque happy ending... or is it?

Sparrow is the first to realize something's up due to her new art studio being where Normal's bedroom used to be, but the others aren't very far behind. They all have to put the clues they discover together in order to figure out what happened and bring Normal back. Speaking of, I dunno how long a human can last in an eldritch dimension after all...

in dsmp s2 cranboo memory is still hazy but they do remember bits and pieces of what they were on the dsmp server, cranboo managed to resurface the fact that they were a father to michael and married to ctubbo.

So when cRanboo back they expected to slowly mend their self back to tubbo arm easily, though like you said theres complication. Ctubbo while they're gone, fall in love with ctommy.

But heres the thing, clingyfaggot when cranboo came back is not an official official relationship. They work more like a FWB, like they're both merely doing it to make themself feel better they have never discussed once wanting to make it so they're an official couple mainly because ctubbo saw their relationship sort of like a replacement and ctommy got that self-worth issue that make him think he doesn't deserve love at all.

cranboo initially was conflicted and confused, but i think they've come to be accepting of clingyfaggot and expressed to the idea of polyamory as long as they all make it work and stop being a stupid gay idiot about it.
